DUDE.... you took my post off.... if you're going to copy boards you're going to have to put up with some crape... i'm sure if you ask Dano and Chris Christenson if its OK to rip them off they'll be cool with it...

dear anonymous,

not that an anonymous accusation deserves a response but...

none of our boards or fins are templated off either of those guys. i'd love to talk to you more about the inspiration for the shapes we've been doing... but you've chosen to remain anonymous.

we've been using the same glass shop as dano, and surfing the same spots, he's never asked me if we're templating his stuff. if you don't believe me, come by and i'll show you.

thanks,
dave

next thing you're going to tell me is that your t-shirts aren't an out-right copy of Ando and Friends.

I completely agree that 2 of the shirts from our first run were wayy to similar to andy's work.

Andy Davis is a remarkably talented artist who has been able to capture a motion and an expression of joy in his art that is nearly impossible not to feel an association with. We, like many others, found ourselves really attracted to that vibe. And like many others, began to let his style over-influence our perception of surf art.

That being said, those shirts have been out of print for over a year, so I'm not too worried about it. I can't imagine we stole too much of Andy's business in that time period.

We've got 5 new shirts coming out later this week that will hopefully suit your tastes better.

thanks for your concern,
dave

"nice work" defending yourself. if your going to be in biz there will be a lot of haters. i just wanted to see how you would handle it. next time I'm in the states i'll come by and check out the shop. even though I'm not sure if its a good time to open a store. you must have some good $ backing you. GOOD LUCK.
